Championing the double bass through creating, promoting and commisioning
Welcome to the Scottish Bass Trust
Since the Trust was established as a Scottish charity in March 1993, it has undertaken a wide range of projects, including a number in partnership with the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and the Royal Scottish National Orchestra. These initiatives have attracted participants not only from across Scotland, but also from elsewhere in Great Britain, Europe and around the world.
Many of these events have featured internationally acclaimed soloists from both the classical and jazz worlds who have led workshops and masterclasses and performed in public concerts.
The Trust has also organised outreach bass events throughout Scotland for both adults and young people, led by players of local, national and international standing.
In addition, the Trust has commissioned works for bass quartet, massed bass ensembles and concerto repertoire.
We define goals, build a clear structure, design key screens, and prepare everything for a stable release.
