Scottish double bassist Andrew Robb is recognised as one of the UK’s leading jazz bassists, combining an international performing career with an extensive reputation as an educator living in London. Winner of the European Society of Bassists Jazz Competition in 2018, he has performed throughout the UK and Europe with artists including Julian Joseph OBE, the WDR Big Band, Salena Jones, Micah Paris, Valery Ponomarev and Rebecca Ferguson, and is regularly engaged for commercial recording and broadcast work.
Alongside performing, Andrew is professor of double bass at Junior Trinity Laban Conservatoire in London, Senior Lecturer in Jazz Bass at Leeds Conservatoire, Lecturer in Jazz Repertoire at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. He is an endorsing artist for Remic Microphones, a Trustee of the Scottish Double Bass Trust, and was named the arts representative in Scottish Review’s 20/20 Vision: Young Scots of the Year.
